IKEA Sunnersta DIY Bar Cart
This DIY has been a long time coming. I have had a bit of a bar cart fetish for several years now but, until a few months ago, had never owned one. That all changed when my husband and I downsized from our large two-bedroom apartment to our comparatively cozy one-bed (*background on our surprise move can be found at the end of this post). Prior to our move, we did some serious house cleaning and ultimately donated about 40% of our belongings, including our big, awesome bar cabinet that previously served as our drink station.
As anyone who has ever moved can attest, there are a lot of surprise expenses that pop up during that singularly stressful period. Our move was no different and we found that we were in no position to purchase a fancy new bar cart to fit into our new space. We wracked our brains about what to do with our ever-expanding liquor selection until I finally decided to tackle the problem head on by transforming an inexpensive IKEA piece into the marble and gold bar cart of my dreams.
