To be 100% honest, sitting down and writing this post intimidated me beyond all belief. How do you adequately express your profound gratitude for 365 days full of love, laughter and immense personal and professional growth? It feels as though there aren’t enough positive adjectives in the English language to properly acknowledge what an incredible year of my life 2016 was. The best I can do is reflect back upon the highlights of the last twelve months of my life.
When I shared my December Music Mondays Playlist I not so subtly alluded to the fact that there might just be one more musical compilation in me this year. I love a good recap, whether it be of the weekly, monthly or yearly variety and couldn’t help myself from putting together a comprehensive musical look at 2016.
This playlist includes some of the biggest hits of the year along with at least one song from each of my monthly mixes. When design house Studio McGee was tasked with bringing their cool and minimalist aesthetic to this rustic and masculine home, they were initially stumped on how to proceed with a project so far removed from their traditional design norm. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for them to find a happy marriage between the two seemingly contrasting styles, ultimately leading to an end result that is nothing short of livable and sophisticated brilliance.

Throughout the process of our bathroom makeover, it continually surprised me how much of a difference a few small changes could make. In no way was this a costly endeavor; in fact, the entire bill for the project was right around $100 and, let me tell you, what a difference that $100 investment has made.
