This gift idea is one that is close to my heart. When my now-husband and I started dating I was barely making enough to pay for rent and bills. When our first holiday season together rolled around I was adamant about the two of us not exchanging gifts because, honestly, I couldn’t afford to purchase any. Though I was unable to purchase a gift for my husband that first year, I did still want to give him something small, useful, and handmade. That is where the idea for a DIY soap dispenser came into play.
As luck would have it, my husband mentioned that he was in need of a new soap dispenser a few weeks prior to Christmas and a lightbulb went off in my head. They say that necessity is the mother of invention and boy, was that ever true in this case! I serendipitously found myself with an empty 375 ml bottle of Jack Daniels, a soap dispenser with a screw-on top, and a vague gift idea that I had come across on Pinterest years prior. The DIY Jack Daniels soap dispenser idea was born!
MATERIALS

Assembly for this DIY couldn’t be easier. Simply down a bottle of Jack Daniels, carefully rinse it out so as not to get the label wet, fill the bottle with (ideally) clear soap, and pop a dispenser pump on top. Voila!
The gift was a hit and sat proudly in my husband’s apartment next to his kitchen sink until we moved. It garnered SO MANY COMPLIMENTS over the years, particularly from men, that it still blows my mind. I can assure you that this last minute gift idea is guaranteed to garner two thumbs up from the men and Jack aficionados alike in your life.
