The recipe I’m sharing with you today is one that is particularly close to my heart. Originally my grandmother’s recipe, my mom made this holiday side dish every single year while I was growing up. Not only does it have a very unique tang to it that perfectly offsets the holiday sweets we consume each year, it’s also a gorgeous dish that compliments any holiday table.

This dish has a completely singular taste to it thanks to a mix of red wine vinegar, oregano, and garlic. It might not be the most traditional addition to a holiday menu, but it is certainly a welcome one to me.

You can see my copy of the recipe scribbled above in my 10-year-old handwriting.
Now that I live far away from my Seattle-based family, keeping traditions from my youth alive and well is becoming increasingly important to me. Enjoying a holiday side dish that I could always count on being placed in front of me at Christmas dinner is one such way I am able to do that.
