Music Festival DIY – Feather Earrings

It is a little bittersweet to share my third and final music festival DIY with you today. I had such a great time with all three of my projects and am a bit sad that they’re all completed! Alas, all good things must come to an end and it just so happens that this particular ending signals that Weekend 1 of Coachella officially starts TOMORROW!

For my final festival DIY I went full on boho and channeled my inner Earth child. I’m not normally one for nature-inspired embellishments or big jewelry but for this DIY I combined the two to create a pair of very unique leather earrings that definitely push the boundaries of my comfort zone.

I was first introduced to Valentina Skin Care, a company committed to providing top of the line natural skin care products, a couple of months ago when I had the opportunity to test out their Royal Rose Hydrating Serum. Whiskey Lemon Foxtrot

Whiskey and I have always had a love hate relationship. I went through a phase in college where Jack Daniels was my JAM. And then, like most things from college, I outgrew it and moved on. Or perhaps my sudden repulsion was due to a bad night with my frienemy, Jack.

Time heals all wounds and these days I’m finally dipping a toe back into the whiskey pool and am starting to explore bourbon whiskeys. While you won’t (likely ever) find me coming home from work and pouring a splash of bourbon whiskey over some ice, you might find me experimenting with various whiskey-based cocktails ever so often.

Today’s cocktail is not for the faint of heart. It is essentially straight bourbon whiskey over ice with a splash of flavor added in for good measure. I didn’t expect to love it or want to share it with all of you but I found it so delicious that I just couldn’t help myself. It’s the perfect springtime drink because it blends the smooth, woody, wintery flavor or bourbon with just a hint of sunny days to come in the form of lemon and mint.

Music Mondays – Coachella Playlist Volume 2

The posting of part two of my Coachella playlist signals that the iconic festival is just FOUR DAYS AWAY! I know it has been a bit of Coachella-mania on my blog lately and I greatly appreciate you all sticking with me and humoring me. I love Coachella so much, and music festivals in general, because they have an incredible ability to bring people together. Our world is full of tragedy and negative news at every turn. Being able to escape for three days with friends and strangers alike is an incredibly beautiful thing to get to experience.

I enjoyed putting together part one of my playlist but most definitely saved the best for last. The portion I’m sharing today leaves me feeling energized, happy and excited for the festival. I hope you all enjoy this roundup of some of my favorite songs and the artists I’m most looking forward to seeing. I’m excited to share my Coachella 2016 experience with all of you guys! Simple Bedroom Updates for Spring

There is nothing quite like the feeling of fresh beginnings that comes with the first warm and sunny days of spring. The grass looks a little greener, the air feels a bit cleaner, flowers are in bloom at every turn, even the birds seem to sing a sweeter song. The change in season is nothing short of inspiring.

My favorite way to take advantage of that spring momentum each year is by freshening up my home. It feels like a necessary rite of passage, readying me for brighter days ahead. I find that by making simple changes throughout my home, particularly in my bedroom so hints of spring are felt the second I wake up, I’m quickly able to get in the spirit. With that in mind, I’m sharing the simple steps I take to get my bedroom spring ready.
