All Hail the Kale Hash

February 16, 2016

Today’s recipe is another one of those that I have been meaning to post for ages but have been inadvertently withholding (similar to my favorite berry crumble).  When I sit down and meal plan every week or so, more often than not this kale hash makes an appearance as a weekend breakfast. Not only is it relatively easy to make, it’s incredibly filling and just one batch carries my husband and I through the entire weekend.  A win, win, win, right?

It's time to meet your new breakfast companion! This quick & easy kale hash will leave you feeling satisfied & ready to take on whatever your day brings.

Music Mondays – February Playlist

February 15, 2016

Am I ever excited to share my February playlist with you guys today!  I am having such a good time with these Music Mondays posts…they are giving me an excuse to suss out awesome new music rather than falling back on whatever the radio happens to be playing at any given time.  Let me tell you, I’ve discovered some artists who I absolutely adore!

In fact it is thanks to creating January’s playlist that I was first exposed to Troye Sivan.  I included his song “Cool” on last month’s playlist and had to throw “Youth” onto this one.  I am so obsessed with him that I have become that person who, in the middle of a conversation with a friend, will say, “Have you heard of Troye Sivan?  You’ve GOT to check him out!”.  Yep, I’m THAT weirdo.  If nothing else, please give him a listen!

For my February playlist I branched away from including too many Valentine’s Day inspired songs in hopes of creating something that will continue to be listenable as the month progresses.  I hope you guys enjoy it and discover some new music that you love!  Let me know what you think!

Add a Little Love to Your Home

February 11, 2016

As I mentioned last week when I shared some cheery interiors inspired by Pantone’s color of 2016, Rose Quartz, I really am beginning to come around on the color pink.  Though my affection for the color is growing, last Thursday’s bold splashes of pink were just a bit out of my comfort zone, at least for Valentine’s Day 2016.  On this upcoming day of love I’m all about finding sweet and subtle ways to infuse Valentine’s Day decor into my home.  Pink kitchen wall?  I’m not quite there.  Pink wall shelf?  I’m all over it.

Valentine's Day Decor Towels

First and foremost, can we talk about these towels? As a new Mrs. I think they are very much a necessary addition to our home.

Amaretto Sunrise – This Year’s Valentine’s Day Drink

February 9, 2016

Do I ever have an unexpected Valentine’s Day drink recipe to share with you today!  This one was discovered by accident when my ever resourceful husband played mixologist and started combining all manner of ingredients.  This particular combination didn’t sound particularly delightful right off the bat; Amaretto, orange juice, grenadine, and…vodka?  Truthfully it sounded dreadful.  However just one sip of this smooth, almost creamy cocktail and I was singing a different tune.

Honeymoon Stop Three – Paris, Je T’aime

February 8, 2016

I have spoken previously about my experiences in France (found here and here) and about my great love for the country, specifically for Paris.  It goes without saying that I was very much looking forward to returning to a city that has meant so much to me on the final stop of our honeymoon.  I had spent months planning out what I most wanted to do and see in the two and a half days we were to be there and created three very different jam-packed itineraries.  I was ecstatic over the prospect of sharing special places and traditions with my husband!
