My feelings regarding Valentine’s Day have undergone a serious renaissance throughout the course of my adulthood. It took a couple of decades to get to this point, but I am now at a stage of my life where I positively love this holiday. Now, there is a lot I DON’T like about it as well – how commercialized it is, not to mention how exclusionary it can feel when you don’t receive the cliché bouquet of roses and sweet nothings on February 14 – but the good far outweighs the bad in my opinion. Any day that, at its core, celebrates love and togetherness is my kind of day. Add a Little Love to Your Home

As I mentioned last week when I shared some cheery interiors inspired by Pantone’s color of 2016, Rose Quartz, I really am beginning to come around on the color pink. Though my affection for the color is growing, last Thursday’s bold splashes of pink were just a bit out of my comfort zone, at least for Valentine’s Day 2016. On this upcoming day of love I’m all about finding sweet and subtle ways to infuse Valentine’s Day decor into my home. Pink kitchen wall? I’m not quite there. Pink wall shelf? I’m all over it.

First and foremost, can we talk about these towels? As a new Mrs. I think they are very much a necessary addition to our home.

Through Rose Quartz Colored Glasses

I have never been a huge fan of the color pink however I am finding myself being slowly won over by the light, almost dusty roses that have been cropping up in fashion and interior design. The color is so sweet and cheery that I can’t help but smile when I see it.

Luckily for me, Pantone agrees and has declared Rose Quartz one of the colors of 2016 making it clear that this color trend is just getting started. While I’m not quite ready to take the plunge and bring out the rose quartz colored paint just yet, I am inspired by the subtle and not so subtle ways these blush loving souls incorporated the shade into their homes. I hope you all enjoy some rosy inspiration just in time for Valentine’s Day!
