Music Mondays – March Playlist

This March playlist was my favorite to compile thus far. I can’t help but smile and be put in a good mood when I listen to it. It feels to me like it carries in it a bit of the hopeful and playful air of Spring that neither January or February’s playlists did.

Just as I did last month I had to include School of Seven Bells and Seinabo Sey…I love both of these songs too much not to share them! I think my ultimate favorite song of the playlist however is “Jealousy” from Robert DeLong. Though this was released in 2015, I did not hear much of it. In fact, I don’t believe I have ever even seen him perform it live during the couple of shows of his I have gone to! The song has a surprisingly poppy tone to and I’m kind of loving it.

This past week was incredibly busy and more than a little stressful for me and this playlist lifted my spirits on a daily basis and helped me through to the weekend. I hope it will do the same for you!

Music Mondays – February Playlist

Am I ever excited to share my February playlist with you guys today! I am having such a good time with these Music Mondays posts…they are giving me an excuse to suss out awesome new music rather than falling back on whatever the radio happens to be playing at any given time. Let me tell you, I’ve discovered some artists who I absolutely adore!

In fact it is thanks to creating January’s playlist that I was first exposed to Troye Sivan. I included his song “Cool” on last month’s playlist and had to throw “Youth” onto this one. I am so obsessed with him that I have become that person who, in the middle of a conversation with a friend, will say, “Have you heard of Troye Sivan? You’ve GOT to check him out!”. Yep, I’m THAT weirdo. If nothing else, please give him a listen!

For my February playlist I branched away from including too many Valentine’s Day inspired songs in hopes of creating something that will continue to be listenable as the month progresses. I hope you guys enjoy it and discover some new music that you love! Let me know what you think!

Music Mondays – January Playlist

I can’t begin to tell you how incredibly excited I am to start this new series on Musings on Momentum. Music has always been a huge part of my life; in fact I am a classically trained pianist who performed and competed seriously throughout my youth, I danced both ballet and hip hop growing up and cheered in college, and I obviously attend A LOT of concerts and festivals. I have been longing to incorporate more of that part of my life into this blog since its inception.

That desire led to the creation of Music Mondays. On the second Monday of each month I’m going to share a playlist of my favorite music at the moment. Most of my choices will be relatively new, but there will also be some remixes of familiar hits and old favorites mixed in every now and then.

It is my hope that by sharing some of my favorites with you, you will in turn be prompted to share yours with me, exposing us both to awesome new music! Be sure to check out January’s playlist and share your favorite music of the month in the comments section below!
