It is official, the summer season is coming to a close and there are indications of change around ever turn. Before I embrace autumn in full force, I want to share one last look back at the last few months of my life in our summer 2018 vlog. Those of you who have been around for a while know that this summer brought with it some massive life changes. In June, my husband and I packed up our two dogs and road tripped across the country from Los Angeles to Kansas City to our new awaiting home. I had only visited Kansas City once prior to our move, so this summer has largely been spent exploring our new hometown.
In addition to checking out all that beautiful Kansas City has to offer, and my goodness is it ever a beautiful city, my husband and I also squeezed in A TON of once in a lifetime concert experiences. We had the opportunity to see several acts that had been on our bucket list for years (Dispatch, I’m looking at you!) and managed to record bits of pieces of them all to share with you. So sit back and get ready to take in the best of what Kansas City had to offer in the summer of 2018!

Here we are, three days away from the first official day of autumn. I don’t know about you, but I am positively bursting with enthusiasm for the season. Why, you might ask? Well, it’s simple. For the first time since 2009 I am actually going to experience a fall where I live! After nearly a decade of fall equalling just slightly cooler temperatures in Southern California, I am ready to embrace the season with full force. My fall wishlist reflects just that and is full of rich, bold colors and luxurious textures and patterns sure to get you in the autumn spirit.
It has been a little over a month since I shared my first round of inspiration for our new home. While that was geared towards my home office, this time around I am sharing my influences behind our bathroom. As a single-bath home, we are fortunate to have a large amount of square footage dedicated to our bathroom. We have grand plans for a full bathroom renovation down the road, should we stay in this house, but in the meantime we are happily enjoying having a bit more space than we did in any of our Los Angeles bathrooms. The mid-century bohemian bathroom inspiration that I am sharing with you today represents just the first wave of our bathroom plans. There will undoubtedly be many makeovers and updates to follow at a later date.
As the days grow shorter, I find it increasingly difficult to get moving in the morning. Without daylight streaming through my windows at 6:00 AM, I generally wake up feeling groggy and disoriented. To kickstart my day, I have been drinking this morning magic smoothie on repeat.
