I have been waiting to press “Publish” on the first segment of this home series since we purchased our new house in March and, much to my great joy, the day has finally arrived! As I mentioned when I shared our empty home tour last week, our fixer upper is very much a work in progress. Due to the fact that I needed to hit the ground running and begin work immediately upon our arrival in Kansas City, my office, which also serves as our main guest room, is the first room in our house to be completed. I will be sharing the final reveal of my mid-century bohemian office next week but, in the meantime, wanted to share some of the influences behind the space.
The design behind my mid-century bohemian office is overwhelmingly based on the home’s history combined with my love for bohemian and global influences. Our home, unlike the others on our street which are decades older, was build in the 1950’s and, for that reason, stands out immediately upon approach. I wanted to honor that uniqueness in my initial design approach and, fortunately for me, my office was the first room I was able to tackle. Throughout my mid-century bohemian office inspiration you will find warm, bold colors, rich textiles, and modern touches, all of which blend to create the office space of my dreams.
