My love for February 14th might be a recent development, but my adoration for handmade gifts is not anything new. Since childhood, I have preferred both to make my own gifts and to receive homemade goodies for holidays. In keeping with that longstanding tradition, I created this easy Valentine’s Day DIY wall hanging to give to my loved ones this year.
This fun and flirty Valentine’s Day DIY is simple, budget friendly, and accessible to just about all of you, regardless of where you are in the world. The best part about it? It makes for the perfect unique gift to give to your significant other, friends, or family this Valentine’s Day.

MATERIALS
4 pieces – 3/4″ x 2″ x 12″ maple lumber (2 pieces for bottom hanger & 2 for top)
2 – 0.80″ x 13/16″ small eye screw eyes
several disposable rags for staining

INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Stain all four pieces of wood in a well-ventilated area, allowing each side to dry before moving on to the next.

Step 2: Once stain has dried, on the back of the top hanger, measure approximately 1 1/2″ in from each side for eye screws.

Step 3: Insert eye screws.
Note: Depending on the hardness of your wood, you may need to start your holes with a drill or screwdriver.

Step 4: Lay print facedown between four pieces of hanger and use four nails, two for the top hanger and two for bottom hanger, to secure print in place and to connect the four pieces of wood.
Step 5: Attach piece of leather cord to each eye screw.
Note: I doubled up on my cord to make the piece stronger.

That’s it, you’ve just made your very own Valentine’s Day DIY wall hanging!
