Mini Bathroom Makeover

September 21, 2016

As I first mentioned a couple of months ago, my husband and I are slowly but surely settling into our new place. After living in our new spaces for a little over a year, we are starting to make changes based on how we utilize each area of our home. Since we spend the most time in our main open living space, it was the first room on my list to tackle. Now that the living room is coming together (a reveal is forthcoming, I’m still waiting on a couple of pillows to be delivered), it’s time to set my sights on the bathroom.

To be completely honest, I’ve never put that much time, thought or effort into sprucing up past bathrooms. I find it hard to be motivated to make any big changes when I’m dealing with the room I spend the least amount of time in. Regardless of the actual hours, or lack thereof, passed in the room, I’m still motivated to make the space a bit more functional and visually appealing, hence our upcoming mini bathroom makeover.

Mini Bathroom Makeover

This is my ultimate bathroom inspiration as of late. It’s simple and combines natural elements with a touch of glam while still managing to feel perfectly liveable.

Since a full bathroom overhaul is not in the works, nor is it necessary, this makeover is largely focused on bringing in touches with a bit of personality, like those shown below, to dress up our existing blank canvas of a space.

Mini Bathroom Makeover

Bathroom perfection with a bright white canvas, gorgeous finished wood and Turkish towels.

In terms of accessories, I have long been a lover of Turkish towels but have yet to invest in a set. The time has finally come to bring a fabulous striped pair home. I think they add such an air of casual elegance to a bathroom.

Mini Bathroom Makeover

Lazily hung Turkish towels look so much more chic than a tossed aside cotton option.

The hodgepodge of bottles in our shower is a major point of contention, and you can bet that an in-shower makeover/bottle DIY project is in the works.

Mini Bathroom Makeover

Having uniform bottles that are all in their place makes for a much more relaxing of a shower experience!

The other items on my agenda for this mini bathroom makeover are adding in storage over the toilet because the room the toilet and shower are located in has exactly ZERO existing options and bringing in a small print to hang next to the shower. I have DIYs planned for both additions, as well as for creating matching bottles for the shower, that I can’t wait to share with you all over the next couple of months!
