Do I ever have an unexpected Valentine’s Day drink recipe to share with you today! This one was discovered by accident when my ever resourceful husband played mixologist and started combining all manner of ingredients. This particular combination didn’t sound particularly delightful right off the bat; Amaretto, orange juice, grenadine, and…vodka? Truthfully it sounded dreadful. However just one sip of this smooth, almost creamy cocktail and I was singing a different tune.

This cocktail discovery couldn’t have been better timed. The unique taste and the cheery color of this concoction make it the perfect Valentine’s Day drink. This February 14th set aside your initial reaction to the ingredients and give this gorgeous drink a try.

Full Disclosure: We only get share-worthy results about 30% of the time. The majority of the time we sample a cocktail and say things like, “Well that’s interesting” to one another and debate whether it’s acceptable to dump the drink down the drain and waste alcohol. I usually vote yes while my husband votes no. He then ends up getting stuck drinking two stomach curdling drinks. That’s love for you.
