This is the time of the month when I normally share a post on gratitude and we all discuss what we have found to be thankful for in the past few weeks. I’m not going to be sharing a post of that nature today. In fact, I am going to be taking a step back from blogging in general for the next week or two. You have all become such a big part of my life that it didn’t feel right to not let you know what is going on.
For the past month, I have been struggling with the amount of time this blog is consuming. As I mentioned in September, my 9-5 job has evolved quite a bit and it has been taking some time to adjust to. That, coupled with the fact that I have started to feel like I have been neglecting my husband and pup, has fueled a desire to take a step back, at least for a little while. I was not planning on taking this break and reassessing Musings on Momentum until the end of the year, but after a traumatic event last Saturday night, I am left feeling a strong and immediate need for some time to myself. In an effort to address this, I am going to be posting a bit less over the next couple of weeks (but I’ll still be posting!) and I might be slower to respond to comments.
Over the last six months, I have been paying attention to what you all have said that your favorite posts and features are and, going forward, I will be focusing my time and energy more intently on those specific topics. I am hoping that by doing so I will feel less like I’m being pulled in more directions than I can handle.
I’m not going to lie – making a conscious choice that I know is going to impact how quickly Musings on Momentum grows doesn’t feel great to me. In fact, it makes me feel a bit like I’m failing. My hope, however, is that by alleviating some of the pressure I have put on myself I will ultimately find that I am more inspired and able to produce a higher quality of content.
Thank you all for continuing to visit and thank you in advance for your understanding.
