Ah, the holidays. A time each year when a jam packed social calendar competes with our overall health and well-being. A time when unpredictable, chilly temperatures wreak havoc on our skin, when responsible dietary choices go out the window in lieu of holiday goodies, and stress reigns supreme. With so much working against our overall wellness this time of year, it can be challenging to keep an eye on all the goals we hope to accomplish in the new year we will be ringing in a matter of weeks.
With our busy holiday schedules, keeping our internal and external beauty targets in mind is more challenging than ever before. Rather than wait until January 1, why not spend a bit of time each day now focusing on attainable changes you can make in the next month to set yourself up for success in 2019? Today, with the help of Aveeno Max Glow, I am sharing five easy ways to get a jumpstart on your goals for the new year.

This year, rather than wait until January 1 when my body and soul are beaten down by holiday woes, I am working towards incorporating healthy practices into my routine well in advance of the clock striking midnight. My goals for 2019 are varied, ranging from internal and external beauty to mindset. The one thing they all have in common is that they benefit my overall well-being and daily life.

- Health – When it comes to New Years goals, most of us have something health-related on our list. This year, I am adding in additional supplements like Omega-3 and upping my probiotic intake well before January 1 so that these practices are a daily habit by the time 2019 hits. If you aren’t taking daily vitamins, now it the perfect time to start to ensure you enter 2019 healthier than ever before.
- Meditation – Incorporating regular meditation into my routine is one of my number one goals for 2019. To get myself in the habit, I have started working towards meditating a mere 5-10 minutes three times a week. This goal is attainable and can be achieved by either waking up a few minutes early a couple times a week or by meditating when I get home from a day at the office and need to reset my mind.
- Skincare – Just about everyone I know, myself included, struggles with their skin during the winter. Between ever-changing weather and artificial heat sucking the moisture out of our skin, this is the most challenging time of year to keep up a clear, supple complexion. This year, with the help of Aveeno Maxglow Infusion Drops and Aveeno Maxglow Serum + Primer, I am able to stay on top of winter skin trials and tribulations. Aveeno Maxglow Infusion Drops ensure that my skin stays fully moisturized for up to 48-hours throughout the coldest winter days while giving me a lit-from-within glow. By simply adding Aveeno Maxglow Infusion Drops to my morning and evening skincare routine, I have noticed that my hydration levels haven’t decreased despite the declining temperature. During the day, Aveeno Maxglow Serum + Primer acts as a brightening and glowing canvas for makeup application. By incorporating both products into my skincare routine, I’m finding that my skin has remained moisturized and blemish free, something that has never occurred during past winters, and that I am able to completely reinvigorate my winter beauty routine.

- Diet – Working within dietary parameters is one of the most challenging aspects of the holiday season. Take me for example, I am gluten and dairy free 99% of the time. That all went out the window over Thanksgiving when I overindulged to the point my body is still struggling to recover weeks later. While it is perfectly fine (even encouraged!) to occasionally deviate from our diets, try to keep your eyes on the prize this holiday season and don’t make too many choices you will regret later. You can find healthier alternatives to just about all of your holiday favorites on the internet with a bit of digging, so why not spend this holiday season experimenting with healthier recipes that won’t leave you regretting that extra cookie (or in my case, extra dozen)?
- Exercise – This time of year is the easiest time to fall off the wagon in terms of exercise. Rather than hold off until the new year to implement your fitness goals, why not get a jump start on them now? By waking up just 15-20 minutes earlier each day, you can squeeze in a much needed, grounding workout to kick off your day. Don’t worry about hitting the gym, you can find plenty of short and powerful workouts on YouTube that you can complete in the comfort of your own home.

To kickstart my beauty goals for the new year, I visited my local CVS and stocked up on Aveeno Max Glow products. As one of the largest beauty retailers in the country, CVS has become my go-to for all my short-term and long-term beauty needs. I was able to pick up both Aveeno Maxglow Infusion Drops and Aveeno Maxglow Serum + Primer in one convenient stop so I could start seeing results in mere days. Not only did I see changes in my skin quickly, I know I can feel completely confident in the ingredients I’m putting on my face. Aveeno has been dermatologist-recommended for over 65 years, thanks to their powerful yet gentle formulations. The Aveeno Maxglow line, for example, creates glowing skin from within powered by kiwi and soy, ensuring my incredibly sensitive skin stays calm and breakout free.

This month, as we wrap up a very memorable year, consider getting a jumpstart on your own goals for the new year by incorporating some of the above ideas into your daily routine. There is no better time than the present to implement change to ensure your year ahead is full of health and happiness. What are some of your goals for the new year?
