I really want to be a low maintenance kind of gal when it comes to beauty but truth be told, regardless of how hard I try, I can’t seem to shake my love of and need for a few basic beauty products. Unfortunately for my wallet these basic beauty products are usually on the pricey side. Take my hair for instance…not only is it expensive to get the perfect subtle bronde sunkissed look that I’m going for, maintaining that color has also generally required a whole lot of time and money. For the past year I exclusively used Keratase products and let me tell you, it got pricey.
While the salon-sold products really helped keep my hair looking healthy and shiny they also left me with a twinge of guilt every time I looked in my shower and thought about how much my hair products added up to. Couple that with the fact that the products I was using weren’t natural and inevitably exposing me to chemicals I’d just assume not come into contact with and I knew it was time for a change. When I had the opportunity to try out the HASK Kalahari Melon Oil Color Protection Hair Care Collection I excitedly took it, trading in my guilty habit of Keratase for a much healthier one.
When my shampoo, conditioner, color protection deep conditioner mask and shine oil arrived from HASK I immediately began using the products exclusively. The first thing to note about each of these natural products for color treated hair is that they smell absolutely amazing thanks to the main active ingredient of kalahari melon. Found in the African desert, the melon thrives by retaining moisture even in the driest of conditions. When combined with sunflower and cranberry oils in these products the deliciously scented melon counteracts moisture loss and fading, leaving color treated hair healthy and vibrant.
I honestly didn’t know if the HASK products would provide my hair the moisture and shine I was used to and hoping for. Fortunately all four products exceeded my expectations. The daily shampoo and conditioner have preserved and extended the color applied at my last hair appointment and the deep conditioning mask provides a fabulous infusion of moisture every few days. My real favorite however is the shine oil. I apply it immediately after showering to help detangle my hair and again after styling to smooth any flyaways. It smells so light and delicious and has a texture similar to Moroccan Oil…at a fraction of the cost.
The best part about HASK? Their products are wallet friendly and can be found online and at your local drugstore. I am so incredibly happy to have come across this brand and will absolutely continue purchasing their products once I run out. This is the first time I can confidently say that a line found at the drugstore has been able to deliver salon quality results at an accessible, budget friendly price.
