My affinity for chai has been previously documented on Musings on Momentum so, in many ways, this whiskey chai cocktail recipe has been a long time coming. After all, what could be better than combining my favorite tea with one of my favorite alcoholic beverages? As it turns out, it doesn’t get much better than this delicious concoction. This whiskey chai cocktail recipe is deliciously full-bodied yet drinkable, making it the perfect way to warm up on even the coldest of winter days.

It is unclear when precisely I became so obsessed with chai. I believe it was sometime while living in LA, surrounded by delicious chai tea lattes at every turn. I quickly began sipping on chai all day every day – in the morning before work, as soon as I got to my office, post-lunch…the list goes on.
I eventually began experimenting with chai concentrate and creating recipes surrounding my newly acquired favorite flavor. I first came up with the idea of a whiskey chai cocktail recipe several years ago and have been perfecting it ever since. In fact, I have been waiting for the absolute perfect time to share this recipe for over a year now!

I am choosing to share this recipe today because, now that I live in a colder climate, I have been sipping away on these delicious cocktails on repeat. Not only are they ridiculously easy to whip up, they also make the perfect companion to a cold winter’s day because they can be served over ice or warmed. Just think of this whiskey chai cocktail recipe as your new favorite après ski (or, in my case, après snow shoveling) beverage. Cheers!
