We are off to Europe for our honeymoon in just twelve days. Excitement hasn’t quite set in yet…perhaps because there is so much that still has to get done between now and then. I don’t think our upcoming European adventure will feel real until we say goodbye to little Lola on Christmas morning. That will be followed by days of tears, my insistence that I don’t want to go and that the honeymoon must be cancelled, then my final acceptance and inevitable excitement the night before our departure, likely resulting in me not getting one wink of sleep. So it goes.
Though the temperatures are starting to dip into the 40’s in Los Angeles, officially qualifying as unbearably chilly, it is still hard to believe that it is full blown winter in some parts of the world. Parts that I’ll be traveling through in less than two weeks. To remind me of this, and to get me into the holiday spirit in general, I’ve been going through photos of European winter wonderlands like the ones below.

Winter bicycling in Amsterdam

Just because it looks like Hogsmeade…Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany

A Montmartre flurry
I’ve never been to Europe in the winter and being from Seattle I haven’t had many chances to be in truly cold and snowy weather like the kind I might encounter. Honestly the idea of functioning in anything below freezing is a bit mind-boggling to me. Do you guys have any advice? I need it, LA has made me soft!
