Over the course of the last three and a half years that Musings on Momentum has existed, I have shared what at times feels like countless cocktail recipes. I have loved each and every one of them but none so much as the one I am sharing with you today, The Whiskey Jack. If you are in need of a delectable fall cocktail recipe to spice up the season, look no further. The Whiskey Jack is comprised of rich, full-bodied flavors that perfectly complement its bourbon base, making it the ideal Halloween cocktail for a spooky night in.

I am a whiskey girl through and through. As far as I am concerned, any cocktail that includes bourbon is a cocktail I want to try. What comes as a surprise with this cocktail however is that it is not the bourbon that takes center stage. Rather it is the delicious homemade rosemary simple syrup that can’t be beat. The vibrant flavor of the simple syrup enriches the smokey taste of the bourbon, resulting in a marriage that will cause your taste buds to rejoice.

I was admittedly a bit apprehensive when I first created this recipe because I had never made anything beyond basic simple syrup at home. It turns out it is just as easy to make rosemary-infused simple syrup as it is to make the regular kind. The delicious flavor of rosemary adds a unique richness to cocktails, officially making this rosemary simple syrup recipe a staple in my house.

I am anticipating that The Whiskey Jack will remain my trusty Halloween cocktail for many years to come. Easy to make, delicious to drink, and, as an added bonus, it is the perfect peachy orange color for fall. What more could you ask for?

What are your favorite autumn cocktails comprised of? Do you have a go-to cocktail recipe that you make each Halloween?
