Weekend One of Coachella is a mere 21 days away, not that I’m counting. Okay, I’m 100% counting but can you blame me? Music festivals, Coachella specifically, are my happy place so the fact that my favorite festival of them all is just three weeks away is quite exciting.
One of my favorite parts of Coachella is how into the whole scene people get when it comes to fashion and beauty. Hardcore music festival goers go WAY OUT for Coachella, to the point that attending Weekend One can feel a bit like taking in a bohemian-leaning fashion week. It’s a fascinating and inspiring scene all at the same time.
While I don’t have any pretenses about being a style blogger, or even that stylish of an individual, I am definitely a DIY-enthusiast, particularly when it comes to festival-related projects like the DIY gemstone choker I’m sharing with you today. This quick and easy music festival DIY is the perfect way to add a bit of unique personality and bohemian flair to any of your spring and summer looks.

INSTRUCTIONS
This DIY is exceedingly simple to complete and 100% foolproof. Don’t believe me? Then check out the instructions below!
Step 1: Cut your suede cord to the appropriate length. Mine came in a two-yard length which I found to be perfect for my purposes. Remember, you want to leave yourself enough suede to wrap around your neck several times.
Step 2: Smooth any kinks out of your suede. I used an iron on the lowest setting to do this, placing a pillowcase between the cord and the iron to protect the material.
Step 3: Double knot your gemstones on either end of the cord, making sure your knots are tight and secure.
Step 4: Cut off the excess length of cord left over from tying your knots. Voila, you’re done!

Knotted and ready to be trimmed.
I am so happy with how my DIY gemstone choker turned out and can’t wait to wear it in just three weeks. It’s really going to add a bit of unique personality to my Coachella looks!

All set for Coachella!
