It feels as if it was ages ago that I first mentioned my plans for a mini bathroom makeover. Oh wait, it was ages ago! What can I say, life got in the way and I ended up with a buildup of bathroom-related DIYs. I’m happy to report that I’m back on track and have a brand new project to share with you today, these super simple DIY shampoo bottles!
My husband and I have a glass door on our shower which does wonders in terms of making the small room our shower and toilet are in seem larger. The downside to the glass is that anyone who uses the bathroom has a front row view of the contents of our shower. That previously meant a particularly offensive mismatched medley of shampoo bottles. I was personally responsible for having two different types of shampoo and conditioner on hand along with two deep conditioning masks. That was on top of my husband’s shampoo and conditioner and, oh yes, Lola the dog’s shampoo. It was out of control.
Needless to say, better shower organization was high on my list of priorities for our bathroom makeover. Lucky for me, operation shower organization ended up being exceedingly simple to execute. All it took was some bottles, vinyl letters and a bit of masking tape.
MATERIALS
bottles (I used 16 oz)
vinyl letters (I used 1/2″)
Step 1: Clean bottles thoroughly with soap and water. Wipe dry.
Step 2: Apply masking tape to bottles to use as a guide for vinyl letter application. (I used narrow quilters tape that I had on hand.)
Step 3: Apply letters, working slowly and carefully.
Step 4: Transfer liquids into your new DIY shampoo bottles and top them off with their pumps.
That’s it! I told you this was an easy one! This was an incredibly cost-effective project that has made all the difference in our shower. The days of ugly shampoo bottles in varying sizes are behind us. Going forward our shower is all about sleek standardization.
