I can scarcely believe May is coming to a close and it is already time to reflect on how amazing a month it has been. As I mentioned several weeks ago when I first addressed the topic of gratitude, I am making a conscious effort to recognize and focus on the blessings, big and little, in my life. At that time I first shared what I was feeling particularly grateful for and, to my great joy, you were all wonderful enough to share right along with me. I feel like the practice helped me, and hopefully you all as well, enter into the new month in a much more positive head space.
Since you were all so willing to share the things you were feeling grateful for both with me and with one another, I have decided to try incorporating the practice of gratitude into my blog on a monthly basis. As we near the end of each month I want to take a moment to properly appreciate the amazing blessings the month has brought into my life. I’m hoping you will continue to take part in this practice with me so we can collectively begin each month with full and thankful hearts.

The number one thing I am grateful for this month is this blog and all of you. My blog had a month of exponential growth, both analytically and, more importantly, in terms of the community it feels like is being built here. I have been truly humbled by how many of you visit regularly and are willing to engage in conversation and share parts of your lives with me.
When I first started Musings on Momentum almost a year ago (it’s a newbie!) I never dared dream that it would evolve into what it has. What began as a tool to stay in touch with family and friends with as I entered into a new chapter of my life has turned into something that fills me both creatively and emotionally. Yes, sleep is scarce these days but I genuinely don’t mind because I love creating content and connecting with all of you so much.
I know the majority of you are further along in your blogging journeys than I am but I’m guessing there was a point for you, like there was this past month for me, where things really felt like they were starting to click and that your blog was gaining momentum (no pun intended). It has been a rather magical feeling because, while I always felt this was a worthwhile pursuit solely from the standpoint of learning new skills and having a way to express myself creatively, seeing tangible results is hard to beat. It’s validation that the thousands of hours I have spent blogging thus far have been for good reason. As a result of those hours exciting opportunities and amazing new people are coming into my life from all over the world. I never dared dream of such a thing!
So this month I am grateful for all of you and for the opportunity to connect and have daily conversations. I have been feeling overwhelmingly fortunate to have this little corner of the internet where I can interact with like-minded people who inspire me each and every day. I am thankful for the happy tears (perhaps fueled by exhaustion?) that came when several blog goals were reached and surpassed this month. I’m grateful for feeling like I’m living fully and completely for the first time in my life. Mostly I’m thankful for having a reason to pop open several bottles of champagne and take a few moments to reflect and celebrate.
What has the month of May brought into your lives that you are especially thankful for?
