design a life you love
July has ended up to be quite the introspective month. I was so looking forward to it following the month of the year in which I struggle the most. Yet before I could even stop and fully take stock of everything happening in my life, it’s over.
Part of me loves that…I have been busy at work, busy with this blog and just all around busy with my life and I generally thrive the most during times like these. Yet there’s an ever growing part of me that really desires to slow down and appreciate all the amazing things in my life just a bit more. I’ve been going so fast the fun times and awesome memories made this past month flew by without me completely acknowledging and enjoying them.
Strangely, that realization is what I am most grateful for this month. It has become abundantly clear that I am not living in the moment as much as I want to and need to be. The past thirty days have been an excellent wakeup call.
I started a monthly series in May in which I share a glimpse into what the past few weeks of my life have looked like. I skipped my monthly review in June because, as I previously shared, it was a rough month for me but I’m back in business with my July in Review and ready to wrap up the month by sharing the events I attended and the amazing food and drinks I had the pleasure of sampling.

The absolutely delicious California roll I enjoyed during Dine LA Restaurant Week.
No conversation about hip and trendy Los Angeles is complete without the inclusion of Silver Lake, an enclave for creatives, foodies and anyone who appreciates a little uniqueness in a sea of monotony. For this month’s edition of Around LA I’m taking you a mere twenty minute drive from my home in Hollywood to Silver Lake, a singular community that offers an escape from the every day hustle and bustle of Los Angeles.

The iconic Micheltorena Stairs provide the perfect backdrop.
While the neighborhood of Silver Lake does encompass a large area, the part I’m sharing with you today covers less than one mile along Sunset Boulevard, making it the perfect walkable half-day trip for all of you out of towners. If you are looking for things to do in Silver Lake, look no further.
As you may have noticed, I don’t post many beauty reviews on Musings on Momentum. This is not due to a lack of products to test and review. Rather it is because I have made the decision that I want to not just love a product in order to share it with you; I want to be equally as passionate about the brand and people behind it. Farmacy Beauty is one such company that pairs absolutely stellar products with a company story that is so awe-inspiring that I can’t help but share.
Farmacy Beauty began after plant connoisseur and Upstate New York native Mark Veeder discovered Echinacea GreenEnvy. Mark was gardening with a friend when he came across an echinacea plant blooming green rather than pink. It was later discovered that the echnicacea plant he found is the strongest known version of Echnicacea Purpurea. Armed with a mission to create effective and natural cosmetic products using Echinacea GreenEnvy along with a drive to support local farms he grew up around in New York State in mind, Mark formed Farmacy Beauty.
