Adventure Club | Musings on Momentum

Happy January, friends! I can scarcely believe that it’s time to share my January 2017 playlist. Just a little over one week into the year and it already feels as if it is going to be another one that flies by. I figure if it’s going to pass by in the blink of an eye like its predecessor, the least I can do is help all of us to have a good soundtrack playing in the background.

This first Music Mondays playlist of the new year is an eclectic mix of old and new favorites. Lupe Fiasco, for example, is making his first Music Mondays appearance and I couldn’t be more excited. I went through a huge Lupe phase towards the end of college and, to this day, whenever I hear anything from him I’m immediately taken back to that exciting time of my life. Isn’t it amazing how music can transport you to another time and place?

I hope you all enjoy this first edition of Music Mondays of 2017. There are many more to come!

When I began my Music Mondays playlists in January, I quickly knew that my monthly musical shares were going to become one of my favorite features on Musings on Momentum. What I didn’t anticipate was the tremendous amount of support and encouragement that you would all respond to them with. For that reason, creating these playlists has turned into much more of a rewarding experience than I ever could have imagined and I am incredibly excited to continue the series in 2017.

My December playlist is full of the versatile, catchy, and upbeat tunes that have become the common thread throughout my mixes. I had envisioned a more mellow compilation prior to sitting down and creating this one but, true to form, it was the happier and energetic songs that spoke to me. I decided to go with that because hey, it has been a rough year for all of us. Let’s end it on a positive note! So here you have it, the final Music Mondays playlist of 2016…or is it?
