Music Mondays – August 2018 Playlist

In interest of total transparency, I am about to get real about my August 2018 playlist.  The last month of my life has been particularly challenging and has come with its fair share of disappointment and defeat.  While I have continued to portray a relatively picture perfect reality on social media, the truth is that my life has been anything but.

I entered into this summer full of hope and excitement for the grand adventure ahead.  While I certainly got my fair share of new experiences this summer, the season also failed to live up to many of my expectations.  I debated keeping this fact to myself but, the thing is, I’m guessing every single one of you has experienced this exact feeling at some point in your lives, so why fake it?  We all struggle and we all face disappointment but what matters isn’t how many times we are knocked down.  What matters is how we pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off.  For that reason, this August 2018 playlist is full of happy, upbeat songs designed to help those of us feeling the summertime blues turn our moods around and end the summer on a cheery note.

Music Mondays – July 2018 Playlist

How was your first week of July?  Mine was everything July should be and more.  It was full of sunshine, awesome live music, and adventure, all of which was set to my July 2018 playlist.  This playlist is a bit self-serving in that regard.  As I was creating it, I imagined what I would want to be listening to as a hot July night wound down and made my selections accordingly.  The end result is a playlist full of steamy summertime hits that collectively make up the soundtrack to a perfect summer evening.
