A Very Relaxing Weekend

July 13, 2015

I fully admit to not doing anything this weekend besides read by the pool, hang out with Puggle and relax. It was glorious. Though it doesn’t make for very exciting photos.

Pool day number one…delightfully deserted.

My little snuggle Puggle.

A lovely message, “May this day bring you peace, tranquility and harmony.”

Pool day number two…currently devouring “The Four Agreements”.

I hope everyone who reads this had an equally wonderful weekend. Happy Monday!

Blame it on your shaman… I don’t think the people who attempted to turn this mattress into “art” realize that Puggle had previously marked it as her own creation…

When Things Don’t Go As Planned – First Edition

July 9, 2015

I had a different post in the making for today, a pretty and gratuitous decor post, but I’m feeling a little too steamrolled at the moment to continue on as planned.  This blog is supposed to be about forward momentum and positivity, solutions rather than problems, but I have to admit that I’ve temporarily lost sight of that.  Instead of ignoring this fact…ignoring that I’m overwhelmed by still-failing health, by an increase in monthly expenses, by trying to scrape by each month while still planning for the future, by the fact that I live in a city and culture where more, more, MORE is what is generally desired…I’m going to acknowledge how I feel, acknowledge that I won’t feel this way forever and acknowledge that I need to focus on my general attitude at the moment because negativity breeds negativity.  And who wants more negativity?!

So today I’m going to share quotes that are helping me get my mind in a better place and that are helping me focus on being grateful for all the things I have to be thankful for in my life. My hope is that they can inspire you as well and that maybe, like me, you’ll feel a little less alone by connecting with others out there.  Any tips and tricks you might have for snapping out of one of these moods would greatly be appreciated!

xoxo

A Holiday Weekend

July 6, 2015

This past three day holiday weekend ended up being absolutely wonderful.  It was productive, experimental (I tried SO many new recipes that I’ll be featuring in the next couple of weeks) and relaxing.  The weather was beautiful, the food delicious and the company great.  What more could you ask for?  Here are a few captured moments…

Grilled salmon with a lime and avocado garnish, roasted potatoes and watermelon for the Fourth.

I hope everyone had an equally beautiful weekend!  I’m looking forward to sharing some yummy new recipes in the next couple of weeks!  And now…back to reality.
