Music Mondays – March 2017 Playlist

I don’t know about you, but it feels to me as if this winter lasted FOREVER.  Perhaps the uncharacteristically rainy LA days are to blame.  Perhaps it’s the fault of the unseasonably frigid temperatures.  Regardless, seeing the first glimpse of sun and warmth this last weekend felt a bit like one of those scenes in a movie where the clouds finally part allowing the sun beam down.  It was THAT glorious of a feeling.

My March 2017 playlist feels a bit like that to me.  After months of mellow music, it feels incredible to be listening to fun, high energy sunny day songs again.  This medley includes some old favorites like Portugal. The Man, The Chainsmokers and Khalid as well as some new musical obsessions of mine like Ulrika.  I first became aware of Ulrika when we became friends on Instagram and, let me tell you, her new single is on fire.  It’s one of those uplifting songs I can listen to over and over and never tire of.

Even if you haven’t quite reached the sunny days we are blessed with again in Los Angeles yet, I hope this March 2017 playlist gets you in the mood for the light, bright and long days ahead.  Let the sun shine on!

Music Mondays – February 2017 Playlist

Can you believe Valentine’s Day is tomorrow?  The year is flying by!  With the day of love mere hours away, there’s no time like the present to share my Music Mondays February 2017 playlist.  This Valentine’s Day themed mashup is a blend of modern love songs and classics of yesteryear, containing some of my very favorite love songs of all time.

Music Mondays – November Playlist

This November playlist is a bit of a departure from the upbeat one that I shared with you last month.  As the days grow shorter, I’m finding myself longing to stay in with my husband and be cozy at an increasing rate.  This playlist was created with cold, dark, and snug days in mind and features moodier and, at times, bluesier, sounds from an eclectic mix of songs and artists.  Most notably? The xx have made the list with a brand new single that I’m absolutely loving.  It features the haunting melodies the group is known for paired with rather poignant lyrics about missing out on love.

I have been a big fan of The xx since I first saw them in 2013 at the Hollywood Bowl.  My now-husband took me to that show relatively early on in our relationship and now listening to them always makes me reminisce.  Their live shows are beautifully stripped down and raw.  I highly recommend checking them out in concert if you haven’t already.

I hope that this November playlist helps get those of you that live in colder climates through the early days of winter!
